The South - Namib escape…

The ancient Namib invites you to a share the honey golden dawn light while the landscape shimmers in silence. Our route starts in the capital, Windhoek, and arcs through the worlds oldest desert. We visit the colossal Sossusvlei dunes and the trees at Deadvlei, the last relics of a time when water was more plentiful. We marvel at the southern night sky, consistently clear and alive with twinkling light amongst the peculiar silhouette shapes of the grand Quiver trees. At the Sperregebiet we witness the evidence of mans lust for wealth by visiting both the Kolmanskoppe ghost town and also the ruins of the early 20th century Elizabeth Bay diamond processing plant. We learn that the desert is alive with many creatures in the quaint German colonial town of Swakopmund and visit Sandwich bay for the bird and coastal marine life. Our final destination will reunite us with the starry night amongst the pink granite formations of the majestic Spitzkoppe. This is not just a photography trip, it’s your homage to landscape photography…
